DUSHARA PUNTA ROTJA OF SUNFOX, ruddy Somali female
This is Rotja, our foundation queen.  Rotja has good color and ticking, lots of black and a beautiful head!   Rotja came to us from Denmark by way of San Jose, California - she is better traveled than I am, and speaks more languages!  Go to Dushara Somalis in Denmark to see where she came from.
Rotja likes to snuggle in this tunnel bed.  When she's happy, she "makes biscuits" and purrs.  Her favorite toy is anything on a string - in fact, she prefers the string to whatever toy is at the end of it, so we found a cat toy that is a long piece of fabric attached to a stick.  Simple but effective.
This photo gives a better idea of how much coat Rotja has, as you can see the ruff at her neck.  Her ears are set wide apart and tilt forward just a bit, giving her that "ok, I'm interested" look.  She has a pretty, wedge-shaped head and the long, tapering muzzle we are striving for in our Somalis.  Rotja is dainty and refined, with a long body and long legs.
Like most Somalis, Rotja is friendly and loves to meet new people.  We hope she will pass on these qualities to her offspring.

Rotja was spayed recently, and is playing like a kitten!  She loves to play with sparkle balls.  Like most Somalis, Rotja loves to be around people and wants lots of attention.  She's very sweet and affectionate.  Rotja went with me to a cat show to see if she could find a new home for herself, where she would get lots of love and attention without competing with the other cats who live here.  I told Rotja she needed to look cute.  Here's her photos from the show:
Rotja has had two litters of kittens, the first in January 2001, the second in November 2001.  Click on the links to see photos of her kittens.
The theme of the show was "God Bless America".  As you can see, Rotja dressed for the occasion.

Rotja is looking for a home where she can be the only cat and get all the attention.  Rotja needs to be placed within driving distance from the Los Angeles area.
