Here is our newest addition, Blondie.  What a sweet little face!  And a personality to match.  Blondie came to us from our good friends Sue and Ralph Strzalkowski from  Chicago (brrrrr!).  Blondie has already figured out how to get through the cat door to the enclosed balcony where she can watch birds in the warm southern California winter!

"Shorthaired Somali" means that one of Blondie's parents is a Somali, and the other is either an Abyssinian or another shorthaired Somali.  Since the shorthair gene is dominant over the gene that makes the hair longer, a Somali and Aby bred together will make cats that look like Abys but carry the gene for the Somali coat length. 

Like most Abys and Somalis, Blondie is very busy and active.  She does however take some time to come and sit in my lap and cuddle for a short while each day.   She's a joy to have around! 

Blondie has a very warm undercoat and a great body.  At 5 months old, she's almost as big as my 6 month old Somalis.
